Delivering Solar Power to You

We’re committed to more renewable power for California’s future. Because wind and solar power generating stations are typically remote, added infrastructure is needed to transport power over long distances to the areas where many of us live and work.

The Devers‐Palo Verde No. 2 Project (DPV2) will serve as a vital transmission highway for connecting several large-scale solar and conventional generation projects being developed in eastern Riverside County to the power grid.

Menifee, Beaumont, Banning, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Indio, Coachella, Blythe, and unincorporated areas of Riverside County

  • Construction of the new 500/220 kV Colorado River Substation near Blythe.
  • Construction of a new 111-mile Devers-Colorado River 500 kV transmission line between our Devers Substation near Palm Springs and the new Colorado River Substation. This line would be parallel to the existing Devers-Palo Verde transmission line.
  • Construction of a new 42-mile Devers-Valley No 2. 500 kV transmission line between Devers Substation and our Valley Substation in Menifee. This line would be parallel to the existing Devers-Valley transmission line.

The project is completed and operational.

  • July, 2011: We began establishing construction yards.
  • September, 2011: We began construction on the Colorado River and Red Bluff substations.
  • January, 2012: We began transmission line construction.
