What is the Budget Billing Plan?

The Budget Billing Plan makes energy bills more predictable by spreading estimated annual costs across 11 equal monthly payments, followed by a settlement in Month 12. This plan does not reduce the amount of your bill — you are still responsible for paying the full cost of the energy you use.

Eligibility depends on your rate, account status and other program enrollment.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

We take the sum of the costs of your previous 12 months of electricity usage and divide it by 11. This determines your Budget Billing Plan amount, which is the amount you will owe each month for the next 11 months.

At Month 12, you will receive a settlement statement showing either a payment due or a credit balance. This is based on the difference between the actual amount of electricity you used throughout the year and the total amount paid so far. After settling your account, your first year of participating in the Budget Billing Plan is complete.

Any unpaid amount each month will carry over to the next month as past due.

We will review your electricity usage at months 3, 6 and 9. If there is a substantial change, we may adjust your Budget Billing Plan amount, which will be reflected on your next bill. You may also request to have your amount reviewed and readjusted at any time.

Enrollment in the Budget Billing Plan will be auto-renewed after the initial 12-month period. You will start over at Month 1, and if necessary, a new amount will be calculated.

You can cancel or reenroll in the Budget Billing Plan at any time by calling 1-800-434-2365.
